Rock Lobster
A downloadable game
Welcome to my first roll-and-write tabletop board game.
This is firmly inspired by the song Rock Lobster by the B52's. You should bring that attitude when playing this game.
Goal:
Roll the die and place the number. Fill up the scoring tracks for as many Sea Friends as you can. Keep placing numbers until the spaces run out and it's game over. Highest total score wins.
You will need:
- 1 x 6 sided die
- 1-7 players
- Pencils/Pens and a print out of the game sheet (A5) for each player
Sections of the game sheet:
- Top: Total Score box and Game Over track
- Top: Dice Menu options to choose when it is your turn
- Main: Sea Friends and their scoring tracks
Main rule and Game Over state:
Roll the die and write the number in a box. Numbers can only be written to fill the scoring tracks from to to bottom (or left to right). The top or left boxes must be filled first. Numbers on a scoring track must never descend.
If a player cannot legally fill a number into a scoring track, they must shade in 1 of the 3 circles in the Game Over section. When 3 circles on a player board are shaded, the game immediately ends and everybody totals their score.
Bonuses and Strategy:
Small boxes with numbers or asterisks (*) within are potential bonuses for the player and drive strategic decisions.
Please mind:
Full rules pack will be uploaded shortly. This game will be WiLdLY unbalanced and under playtested. So maybe the sheets and rules will also be updated shortly.
Assets:
All assets inc. fonts are creative commons, 100% free for commercial use, or out of copyright. Software to create the game sheet: Inkscape.
